Barbara Clavan is a certified acupressure practitioner through the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, California. She is an associate of Dr. Dickey Palden Nyerongsha, a traditional Tibetan medical practitioner based in Los Angeles. Barbara teaches a highly accessible form of Tibetan medical yoga to Dr. Nyerongsha's patients as part of their overall treatment program, and also conducts classes independently. In addition, she offers Tibetan astro interpretations under the guidance of Dr. Lobsang Rapgay, a psychologist at UCLA, author of several books on Tibetan medicine, and former deputy secretary for His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Barbara is a general member of the Board of The Nyerongsha Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and application of Tibetan medicine and culture in Tibet, the United States, and elsewhere.
Barbara is also a professional writer and photographer. She provides technology marketing services—including writing, consulting and project management—to major international corporations, marketing agencies and public relations firms. Her photographic services include local pet photography as well as innovative digital images suitable for a range of personal and business uses.
