Looking for honest feedback about the sales writing on your e-commerce site? If you want to know what customers think, ask a customer! Other business owners in your line of work are a lot like you, think in similar ways, and enjoy similar background details and product information. But what does you site look like to the average person who's searching on Google or clicking through from social media?
The only way to tell is to reach out to ordinary people who fit the profile of your typical customer. If you just want to find out if the writing sounds logical, looks professional and flows smoothly, feel free to consult your peers and update accordingly. But once the major errors are fixed, get an outside opinion. Contact friends and relatives, or tap the members of community organizations. Find a topic-based Facebook group (not full of sellers) that might be a source of feedback. Set up your own focus group with locals who would be willing to read and comment. Have you tried something like this with good results? Share your experience or feel free to ask a question about your own business copy!
