Don't wait! Deliver your best pitch immediately. Start fast, start strong, and keep your visitors motivated. You've heard that old saying, 'Save the best for last"? In sales, you need to do the exact opposite. Grab your customers' attention immediately, or they'll just lose interest and go elsewhere. They're already looking for a good reason to buy, so give them what they want, right when they walk in the door!
Most of the time, customer decisions occur in an instant. When visitors click through to a listing, they're browsing fast, know more or less what they want, and are hoping to find out that your item matches their requirements. It's a quick yes or no for them. Make sure you've identified the coolest, most practical, most desirable, most irresistible aspect of each item you sell, and deliver that information at the top of the page. After that, you're free to chat a bit, provide background, whatever you think the customer might find fascinating. Then provide important details. You've got about two seconds to engage your customer successfully, so use those two seconds wisely! Of course this means you need to know something about your customers! Watch the blog for more on this in the future. We'll also explore how to make those first few sentences really count. Browse through for other quick tips on copywriting, social media and SEO.
