The Nyerongsha ClinicThe Nyerongsha Clinic, located in the Barkhor section of Lhasa, was established several generations ago by Dr. Dickey Nyerongsha’s grandfather. Since then, nearly all the men and women in the family have become physicians in the Tibetan sorig tradition and have worked at this well-known clinic. Dr. Tsedor Nyerongsha, Dr. Dickey Nyerongsha's brother, is currently in charge of the facility, which provides medical consultations to a large number of patients daily.

Services at the Nyerongsha Clinic include diagnostic evaluations, herbal prescriptions, traditional hands-on medical treatments, dietary advice, and other traditional medical methodologies. Many of the patients who visit the clinic face difficult financial circumstances and in some cases would not be able to receive medical care without financial assistance. In order to ensure that as many people as possible can obtain the care they need, The Nyerongsha Institute donates money each year to the clinic, specifically to allow needy patients to receive medical help either for free or at very low cost.
The Nyerongsha Clinic serves two important purposes: to provide high quality care to patients of all ages and levels of need, and to make a significant contribution toward maintaining the life and vitality of traditional Tibetan medical knowledge and practices within Tibet itself.
